Government Working on Improving Agriculture and Export Sectors, Says Gohar
Caretaker Minister for Commerce and Industries, Gohar Ejaz, announced on Friday that the government is implementing measures to enhance the agriculture and export sectors in Pakistan. In a recent interview with a private television channel, he expressed satisfaction with the progress made in rice and cotton crops.
Ejaz emphasized that Pakistan is blessed with abundant natural resources and stressed the need for comprehensive policy implementation. He highlighted the fact that the country’s exports are steadily increasing and foreign companies are showing great interest in exporting products such as meat, rice, and cotton from Pakistan.
The minister also noted that Pakistani products have gained global recognition and the government is actively exploring opportunities to penetrate the markets of Central Asian States and African regions. This strategic move aims to introduce a wider range of Pakistani products to these markets.
In response to a question, Ejaz revealed that the current caretaker government has successfully reduced imports, circular debt in the gas sector, and inflation. Furthermore, determined efforts are underway to combat smuggling and corruption.
Pakistan’s thriving agriculture and export sectors are essential for the country’s economic growth. With valuable natural resources and a reputation for high-quality products, Pakistan has the potential to become a leading player in the global market. The government’s initiatives to boost these sectors are expected to contribute significantly to the overall development and prosperity of the country.
