President Alvi praises COAS and government for attracting foreign investment
President Dr Arif Alvi Commends Efforts to Boost Pakistan’s Economy
In an effort to attract foreign investment and improve Pakistan’s economy, President Dr Arif Alvi praised the incumbent caretaker government and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir. Speaking at the 15th Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP)’s Recognition Ceremony, President Alvi highlighted the effective decisions made by the army chief and the interim government, stating that these efforts were leading the country towards economic stability.
President Alvi emphasized the importance of the business community in strengthening Pakistan’s economy, stating that Pakistan has immense potential that can be tapped into through the assumption of responsibility. He congratulated REAP on its remarkable journey, with exports increasing from $300 million to $3 billion.
During his address, President Alvi suggested that REAP members consider engaging in joint-ventures and focus on producing value-added rice items. He commended the innovative concept of the “Biryani Festival” and extended an invitation for REAP to organize the festival at the President House. Additionally, President Alvi called for the revitalization of rice research institutions to enhance Pakistan’s presence in the global market.
Responding to REAP’s request, President Alvi proposed the establishment of market-oriented institutions through collaboration between the government and REAP. He stressed the importance of empowering women through employment and providing quality education to prepare the younger generation to tackle the nation’s challenges.
In addition to discussing economic matters, President Alvi also condemned Israel’s brutality in Gaza.
It is worth mentioning that COAS Asim Munir recently announced actions against various illegal activities to protect Pakistan’s economic interests and enhance security.
