Shipping Activity Surges at Port Qasim

Two ships, MSC Positano and Woohyun Sky, are scheduled to load and offload containers and rice at Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi-Purpose Terminal respectively on Sunday. This news comes as five more ships, Discovery, Al-Danah, Mega-1, Sc-Pigasus, and Aliki Force, carrying wheat, palm oil, and coal, arrived at the outer anchorage of the port in Karachi in the last 24 hours.

During the same period, a total of eight ships were engaged at PQA berths, with three ships, MSC Positano, Meratus Jayakarta, and Milaha Raslaffan, leaving the port this morning. The port handled a cargo volume of 117,276 tonnes, including 77,156 tonnes of imports cargo and 40,120 tonnes of export cargo. This included containerized cargo carried in 2,618 containers (258 TEUs imports and 2,300 TEUs exports).

Currently, there are nine ships at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Two of them, Taydo Star and Aliki Force, are expected to load and offload rice, coal, and containers at FAP and PIBT, respectively, on Monday. In addition, two more ships, Maersk Brooklyn and MSC Mumbai-VIII, are scheduled to load and offload rice, coal, and containers at QICT on the same day. On Tuesday, three more ships, MSC Jemima, MSC Yukta-X, and Maersk Detroit, carrying containers, are due to arrive at Port Qasim.
